Most people feel a quick, sharp pinch that’s over in a second. Lobe piercings are generally very well tolerated; cartilage can feel a little more sensitive.
We’ll chat about placement and mark the spot together so you’re happy before anything is done. The piercing itself takes only a moment, then I’ll fit your chosen jewellery and go through your aftercare.
Lobe piercings usually heal in around 6–8 weeks; cartilage piercings can take 3–6 months. Everyone heals at their own pace, so follow your aftercare and don’t rush to change the jewellery.
Keep it clean, avoid touching it with unwashed hands, and clean gently with a saline solution as advised. Avoid swimming pools and hot tubs while it settles.
Wait until it’s fully healed — around 6–8 weeks for lobes and longer for cartilage. Changing too soon can irritate it or cause it to close.
A little tenderness is normal at first. If you notice increasing redness, swelling, heat or discharge, get in touch so I can check it — don’t remove the jewellery yourself, as this can trap infection.
